Starry-Eyes and Sugar-Highs by CailinMarieCosplay Starry-Eyes and Sugar-Highs by CailinMarieCosplay
I used stock from both :iconsmacc-stock: and :iconhatestock: to create this picture!

Costume is entirely self-made (except for the boots lol). Yes, I glued real candy into my hair. This movie is amazing!! I saw the midnight premiere!!

Wreck-It Ralph (c) Disney

I should never be allowed to drive while wearing this. I have to constantly fight the urge to floor it.

I have a question, what would you consider the color of Vanellope's hoodie? Since the wiki says Green but I've seen people do blue. o v o

I hate it when people make her hoodie blue. It is not at all blue. At best, it's a mint green. So people who make it blue are just silly.

I am a firm believer that it is green. c:

Ah okay. o v o I was just wondering what you thought since I've seen both. But it's so hard to find a hoodie that's the same shade as Vanellope's.

It's because the color constantly changes with the lighting in the movie. I settled on a light green and rolled with it!

how did you do the parallel stripe on the sock?

:iconcailinmariecosplay:
CailinMarieCosplay Featured By Owner Nov 4, 2012  Hobbyist Artisan Crafter
I sewed the large white stripes on the right leg (your left leg when you're wearing it) right into the fabric (using white fleece). I then put the leg on, taped off the middle of the white stripes, took it off, stuffed it with a soft material, and painted the red stripes with fabric paint and a brush. The other side was a lot harder to do. I had to tape off the diagonal stripe and carefully remove it from my leg so that the tape didn't rip. I stuffed the leg and did about three layers of white fabric paint. It still wasn't the color I wanted, the green underneath showed through, so I went over the top with a layer of white acrylic paint (since the fabric paint primed the leg for another type of paint). Viola! Leggings! :)

The candy seems like it would be hard to get out of your hair .___.

But I saw this movie last night and it was just awesome! I love Venelope :D

Good job ^_^

lol! Not really. c: I just ran myself a bath and soaked my head for a while, then I slowly pulled out the candies underwater and shampooed my hair like...three times. xD

I just bought my fleece and corduroy fabric today!! I didn't get enough to make the pants though... I have no money XD I might have to get colored leggings or tights.... Besides that, I'm just missing the red hoodie string :squee:

what are the red bits made out of? And did you get her licorice scrunchie thing too? I was thinking it would be good with that stuff you used for the hoodie.

The red strings were sold by the yard where I bought the fleece. Just regular ol' hoodie strings. And I used real licorice for the hair tie. ;)

Oh god :wow: I was going to make all of the candies and such individually and get one wig specifically for this cosplay. I want it to last. But ok, off to JoAnne Fabrics tomorrow. Thank youuuu :meow:

I do suggest getting a wig for sure! But as for the candies, I just used Mike and Ikes (cut in half) and spree.
